Design: Illumina NovaSeq 6000 2x151 sequencing of Staphylococcus epidermidis SENIH046 whole genome paired-end library
Submitted by: NIH Intramural Sequencing Center (NISC)
Study: Coagulase negative staphylococci from human skin Genome sequencing and assembly
show Abstracthide Abstract
The genus Staphylococcus is a prominent member of the human skin microbiome, performing diverse functions that are important for immunity, wound repair, and colonization resistance. Each of these functions is carried out by a subset of staphylococcal strains, with strain-level differences in gene content and regulation. Describing this genomic diversity is important for understanding the microbiome's role in human health and disease.
